About this product
Overview
Fish bolts clamp a pair of fish plates to the web of two rail ends, holding a rail joint in line and transferring load across the gap. Because they sit in the most heavily worked part of the track, they have to match the drawing exactly — the bolt diameter, head and neck shape, thread and nut all follow the RDSO drawing the railway specifies.
S A Engineering manufactures fish bolts with nuts to RDSO/T-1899 in sizes from M18 to M25. We also make fish bolts to RDSO/T-11501 and RDSO/T-11503, so mixed requirements can be supplied together.
Where they are used
- Fish-plated rail joints on running lines and sidings
- Track renewal and maintenance work by railway divisions
- Track contractors executing railway and industrial siding projects
- Steel plant and colliery sidings built to railway standards
